ELIGIBILITY

  • Open to all PGA of Ontario Members in good standing. 
     
  • Priority will be given to PGA of Ontario members until Monday, June 29, 2025 at which point if spots are remaining, they will be awarded to out-of-zone members residing in Ontario on a first-come-first-served basis. If you are an out-of-zone player interested in competing, please contact Kristine Schmidt at kristine@pgaofontario.com to be put on a wait list.

CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD

  • The 2025 Ontario Zone Championship field will be exactly 144 with a cut to the low 60 plus ties in Round 2, inclusive of one exemption spot for the defending champion. Entries will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis.

APPLICATION SCHEDULE & ENTRY FEE PROCEDURE

  1. The registration deadline is Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 11:59 PM EDT (Eastern Daylight Time). Entries will not be accepted without full payment of the entry fee.
  2. All players must register individually. Applications can be submitted through your online member account by using the official application form available at www.pgaofontario.com.
  3. The application fee, as outlined in the fee schedule below, must be submitted along with applicable taxes. Please note that all entry fees are subject to HST (HST# R106865660).
  4. The PGA of Ontario accepts the following payment methods: VISA, VISA DEBIT, and MASTERCARD.

EARLY BIRDIE INCENTIVE - Closes Sunday, June 22 at MIDNIGHT

CANCELLATION/REFUND POLICY

  • Cancellation/Refund Policy – No refund will be provided after the tournament/event tee sheet has been released to the players and/or posted on the PGA of Ontario website. Please note this means that regardless of the circumstance, a refund cannot be provided once a player commences play.
     
  • A refund may be provided in the following circumstances:
  1. A full refund will be provided if a player withdraws from the event due to medical reasons no later than 10:00 am on the Friday before the event. The refund will be issued once the PGA of Ontario office receives a doctor’s note.
     
  2. A full or partial refund will be provided due to extenuating circumstances, at the discretion of the Tournament Committee. The PGA of Ontario Tournament Committee will review all submitted supporting documents to provide a fair and equitable resolution in a timely manner.
     
  3. A full refund will be provided if the cancelling player/team finds an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to take their place.
  • It is the cancelling player’s/team’s responsibility to find an eligible* PGA of Ontario member/team to replace them and notify the PGA of Ontario office no later than 24 hours before the event starts.  
  • The cancelling player’s/team’s refund will be processed once the replacement player/team has paid their entry fee in full.
  • If the cancelling player’s spot is NOT filled 24 hours prior to the event’s start time, a refund will not be issued.

    • Players navigate to www.taboomuskoka.com and select the “book room button”.  Select add Special Rates/Codes to add the promo code.  Put the code in the promo code box then select the arrival and departure date. If you enter the date in first the special rate will not appear.   Players can book from the Sunday to the Tuesday night with this code.

FORMAT

  • 36-hole stroke play with a cut to the low 60 plus ties.

YARDAGES

  •     The PGA of Ontario Zone Championship will be contested from a maximum of 6,800 yards.
  •     A woman can enter the Ontario Zone Championship and play at 75-85% of the total yardage

PLAYOFFS

  • A tie for the Championship will be decided by a hole-by-hole playoff immediately following the conclusion of play. Any competitor involved in a playoff and not immediately available assumes the last playoff position. Multiple no-shows for playoffs shall be decided by lot.

PRIZE MONEY – TIES

  • In the event of ties, prize money will be divided equally among those tied, except that if a competitor wins a playoff for the Championship, that player will receive first-place prize money.

SPECTATORS

  • Spectators are welcome. Spectators MUST walk.

CHECK-IN WITH TOURNAMENT CONVENOR

  • Players are asked to check in at the 1st tee no less than 5 minutes prior to their tee time  

CARTS AND ON-COURSE EQUIPMENT

  • Motorized golf carts are included and mandatory for all players. 
  • Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.  

FOOD & BEVERAGE

  • A post-round meal is included following round 1 on Monday.

SPECIFICATIONS OF CLUBS AND THE BALL

  1. List of Conforming Driver Heads: Model Local Rule G-1 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  2. Groove and Punch Mark Specifications: Model Local Rule G-2 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a club in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  3. List of Conforming Golf Balls: Model Local Rule G-3 is in effect.
    Penalty for making a stroke with a ball in breach of this Local Rule: Disqualification.
     
  4. Replacing Club that is Broken or Significantly Damaged – Model Local Rule G-9 is in effect.

TRANSPORTATION

  • Competitors may walk or make arrangements with the host club for the use of a motorized golf cart. Players must adhere to the host facility cart rules.

TRAVEL

  • The PGA of Ontario assumes no responsibility for entrants' travel arrangements. The PGA of Ontario advises entrants not to book travel or room arrangements before confirmation of tournament acceptance unless those arrangements can be cancelled without penalty.

DRESS CODE

  • Competitors must adhere to the PGA of Ontario Dress Code which is also available in the competitor registration package. In addition, all golf shirts must be tucked in and hats pointed forward.

TIME OF STARTING

  • All players in a group must be present and READY TO PLAY at the time laid down by the Committee. The order of play is not relevant. READY TO PLAY is defined as being on or near the player's first tee accompanied with the necessary equipment needed to put a ball in play. Notification by a PGA of Ontario Rules Official will be given to late starters on the first tee or as soon as practicable.

ALCOHOL AND DRUG POLICY

Stroke Play Event Alcohol Policy

  • The consumption of alcohol before or during any PGA of Ontario stroke play event or Playing Ability Test is strictly prohibited. Violation of this policy is considered conduct unbecoming of a Member of the PGA of Ontario, and swift penalty will be issued by the Tournament Captain and PGA of Ontario office.

Team Event Alcohol Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will allow the purchase of alcohol from the host facility during team events only. This policy will be reviewed following each event and if any issues arise (including, but not limited to, professional conduct, alcohol abuse, or liability), this policy will be revoked immediately. Penalties will be issued based on any Professional violating Liquor Laws, our Tournament Policy and/or the  PGA Code of Professional Conduct and Safe Sport Policy.

Drug Policy

  • The PGA of Ontario will abide by each facility's drug policy.

ANTI-DOPING POLICY

  • The PGA of Ontario has adopted the Canadian Anti-Doping Program set by the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sport. For further information please visit www.cces.ca.
