Born in Leamington, Ontario, Alex's journey with golf began at the age of 9, cultivating a deep-rooted passion for the sport. His early years as a talented amateur player paved the way for a collegiate career, representing Texas Lutheran University on a golf scholarship. Post-graduation, he ventured into the competitive arena of the Florida mini tours, honing his skills and dedication to the game.
In 1989, Alex entered the Canadian PGA, marking the inception of an enduring legacy. He seamlessly transitioned into competing across Ontario zones and national events, and achieved his 25-year member/Class A status milestone in 2017.
Since 2002, Alex has brought his wealth of expertise to the forefront as the Director of Golf at Essex Golf & Country Club, specializing in the intricacies of golf operations. His tenure at Essex, spanning over three decades, has been marked by remarkable milestones, including overseeing prestigious events such as the 1998 du Maurier Classic, an LPGA major, and the 2002 Canadian ATT Senior PGA tour event.
Beyond his professional endeavors, Alex's dedication to the sport extends to leadership roles. He served on the Ontario Board of Directors and became President of the Ontario Zone in 2015 and 2016. Alex has been a Titleist staff member for the past 25 years and is a long standing member of the Titleist Leadership Advisory team. Alex remains unwavering in his passion for, and promotion of, the game embracing every opportunity to steadily carve a reputation for excellence.
