Alex Catherwood
About
Alex has been working in various roles within the golf industry for most of his working life. He began his career in the industry in 2001 at Mill Run Golf Club in Uxbridge, Ontario. His first role on the golf operations side was as a golf shop attendant in 2011 at King's Riding Golf Club in King City.
After an 8-year stint at the corporate office of Clublink, first in accounting, then in the merchandising department, he made his return to the club level as an Associate Professional at The Lake Joseph Club in Port Carling in 2019. Currently, Alex is the Associate Professional at Port Carling Golf and Country Club, also in Port Carling, Ontario. Alex currently represents the Muskoka Chapter of the PGA of Ontario as its Chairperson.
Alex was distinguished as a member of the PGA of Ontario Professional Recognition Program’s top 100 in 2021, 2022, and 2023, and finished in the top 25 in in all three years.
In the fall of 2023, Alex was named a finalist for the PGA of Ontario Apprentice of the Year.
Most recently, Alex attained his Class A status in April of 2024.
