About
Michael got his first taste of the golf business over 27 years ago at York Downs Golf and Country Club. Since then he has gained knowledge and experience in every capacity of the golf business. Through the years he has worked at Glen Eagle Golf Club as Manager of Golf Operations, Donalda Club as Associate Professional, Eagles Nest Golf Club as Associate Professional and Turnberry Golf Club as Head Golf Professional. Michael returned to Donalda in 2012 as the Head Golf Professional and led the team to success through his six seasons before being named Director of Golf in early 2019.
A graduate of York University he was a member of the varsity golf team from 1997 to 2000. Michael became a “Class A” member of the PGA of Canada in 2004 receiving acknowledgment for the highest examination score in Ontario. He has completed the PGA of Canada coaching and training certification levels 1 to 4 as well as the PGA of Canada club fitting/club repair and rules of golf programs. Over the years he has taught golfers of all skill levels; specializing in junior development. In 2001 he launched the BMO Future Links program at Glen Eagle Golf Club growing participation to over 250 juniors by 2004. Michael has taken many PGA of America courses; specializing in merchandising, tournament preparation and junior player development while attending the PGA trade show in Orlando. He continues to attend industry related seminars and workshops to further his knowledge in the business.
Michael is committed to providing the membership with a first class golf operation involving top notch instructional programs, merchandising the golf shop with the latest fashion trends and most cutting edge equipment and organizing/executing the very best member events. Michael’s passion for the game of golf is what motivates him daily.
