Awarded Master Professional status in 1981, Bruce Murray has been a member of the PGA of Canada since 1959.
His career spans 60 years as both a Head Professional and Director of Golf at many of Canada’s prestigious clubs, including Rockway, St. Catharines, Royal Montreal, Shaunghnessy and Wildfire. Murray’s career has been highlighted by his 15-year involvement with the PGA of Canada. He served as a Director in the Ontario, Quebec and Ottawa zones. Murray also served as President of the PGA of Ontario in 1973-1974. His teaching record includes energetic teaching programs in the clubs where he served, resulting in four Provincial and National champions. Murray's teaching history includes 25 years on cruise ships traveling the world.
Murray's own playing successes include a win on the lucrative Quebec Tour at the Sherbrooke Open, the Bermuda Goodwill Pro Division Championship and PGA of Ottawa Championship, as well as numerous Pro-Ams. Early in his career he was runner-up to Moe Norman in the Hunt Trophy Championship in Ontario, where he was awarded an exemption into the Canadian Open the following year. Murray is a Life Member of the PGA of Canada.
