The Country Club Seals the Deal at the 2018 Tournament of Champions

WOODBRIDGE, ON -- Twenty-two teams from across the Ontario Zone competed yesterday in the first event of the 2018 tournament season. The Country Club, who was hit by the windstorm and was without power for 48 hours prior to our arrival did an amazing job hosting the Tournament of Champions.  The weather gods were in our favour, the sun was shining and the golfers were ready to hit the links.

This was the first year this group from The Country Club has played together in the Tournament of Champions. Dave Newsome the Executive Professional moved to The Country Club at the beginning of 2017. He was joined by the club's male champion Julian Crupi and ladies champion Tanis MacLaren. Dave recounted after the round "It was a perfect weather day and some great play from our entire squad." He went on to say "It was a true ham and egg type day where timing was everything. Our group recorded six birdies on separate holes and only one bogey. Everyone contributed whether it was for a much needed par or better. Julian highlighted the day with a whopping 349 yard long drive on the 12th hole resulting in a tap in birdie for our teams sixth birdie of the day. A true team effort and a great way to kick of the PGA of Ontario season."
