HILDROP, Peter Slipped quietly away on Thursday, June 7, 2012. Beloved husband of Lorene (nee McCormack); dearly loved brother of David Hildrop and his wife Pat of Leamington and Mary Gushie and her husband Mike (predeceased) of Hamilton; dear brother-in-law of Nancy and Robert Eacrett of Sorrento, B.C. and Donald and Noranne McCormack of Sault Ste. Marie. Special Papa Petie to Cormack Eacrett. Lovingly remembered by several nieces and nephews and their extended families. Predeceased by first wife June Ortwein (1960) and second wife Maxine Ofield (1967). Peter was a Class A Life Member of the Canadian Professional Golfers Association and was well known and respected in the golfing community. Most notably, he will be remembered by members, staff and owners of Mount Hope Golf and Country Club where he served as head golf professional for twenty-five years. In his younger days, Peter played tournament golf at events across Canada and spent two winters playing on the Caribbean tour. In later years, Peter and Lorene enjoyed travelling to CPGA sponsored Pro-Am tournaments with teams from Mount Hope, making many happy memories along the way. At Peter's request, there will be no funeral. Cremation has taken place. An informal celebration of Peter's life will be held Thursday, June 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Saginaw Golf Club, 124 Saginaw Parkway (intersection of Franklin Blvd.), Cambridge. (519-620-0322). Friends and family are invited to come and share their memories. For those wishing to do so, a donation to the charity of your choice would be appreciated in lieu of flowers. Many thanks to Brantford's CACC and the Outreach Team at the Stedman Hospice. Special thanks to the wonderful team of nurses at Aberdeen and to all the others who helped ease the way as Peter made his final journey.
