The Largest Field Ever Battled The Elements For Top Honors at NIKE Golf

Fall Scramble at Lionhead Golf & C.C.

(Brampton, Ont., October 23, 2012) - At the end of a long, rain soaked day, and a playoff ending in the dark, two teams from the NIKE Golf Fall Scramble were able to secure victory in the final event on the PGA of Ontario tournament schedule. Danny Mijovic (King's Riding Golf Club), Danny King (The Performance Academy at Magna) and Kyler Murphy (King's Riding Golf Club) won on the Masters Course while Jim Kenesky (Lowville Golf Club), Brett Walker (Hidden Lake Golf & Country Club) and Yong Woo Kim (Wedgewood Golf Centre) secured victory on the Legends Course. Both teams had to play extra holes to claim their titles.

The team of Mijivoc, King and Murphy survived a one hole playoff over the team of Conor O'Shea (Academy at Piper's Heath), Ed Maunder (Deerfield Golf & Recreation Centre) and Reg Millage (The Clublink Academy At Glen Abbey) after both teams tied at -16 thru 18 holes on the Masters Course. On the Legends Course Kenesky, Walker and Kim claimed victory over the teams of Donovan Fraser (Credit Valley Golf & Country Club), Matt Tindale (Credit Valley Golf & Country Club), Carl Penfold (Credit Valley Golf & Country Club) and A.J McKenzie (Deer Ridge Golf Club), Ben Moser (The Golf Performance Center @ Whistle Bear), Brad Pemberton (Dalewood Golf & Curling Club), all firing -12.

"We were only seven under par with three holes to play and finished birdie, eagle, eagle to get to -12," said Kenesky." We were fortunate to carry our hot play into the playoff and claim the victory".

The team of Mijovic, King and Murphy attributed their victory to a number of putts that found the bottom of the cup, something that is a must in a scramble like this.

The largest field ever, 240 Professionals, battled a steady rain most of the day at Lionhead Golf Club.
