Scott Bogle & Dave Newsome Pick Up
PING Pro / Pro Championship Win at Glencairn

(Milton, Ont., - September 5, 2012) - Scott Bogle (Golftown Aurora) and Dave Newsome (King Valley Golf Club) beat Scott Cowx (HGCC Teaching Academy) and Darren Allan (Otter Creek Golf Club) in a two hole playoff to claim the 2012 PING PGA of Ontario Pro / Pro Championship today at Glencairn. Bogle and Newsome parred the second hole of the playoff in the alternate shot format to clinch victory.

"This was my first experience in a playoff. I just tried to stay calm," said Newsome. "We played well today to get into the playoff. I knew my partner might be nervous so I just tried to tell him to breathe and stay calm," added Bogle.

The PING Pro / Pro Championship is a 27-hole event which consists of three different formats.  Teams play nine holes of Alternate Shot, nine holes of Better Ball and nine holes of Scramble. Bogle and Newsome managed to finish the alternate shot portion at 1-under-par and were 4-under-par and 3-under-par in the scramble and better ball formats respectively.

2010 Winners Scott Cowx (HGCC Teaching Academy) and Darren Allen (Otter Creek Golf Club) nearly made it three wins in five years and obviously love this event. 2011 Winners Chester Morin (Mill Run Golf Club) and Warren Thomas (Cobble Beach Golf Links) were five shots off the lead while Dustin Doyon (Oslerbrook Golf Club) and Adam Cherry (Credit Valley C.C) as well as the team of Nathan Clingersmith (The Golf Club At Lora Bay) and Greg Colekessian (The Georgian Bay Club) finished just one shot back of the playoff.
