Smith is tops again at Doon Valley

(Kitchener, Ont., July 12, 2012) Keir Smith turned in another solid round to claim his second Senior title of the 2012 season.

Smith played solid all day long and then eagled the eighteenth hole to shot 69 and edge Ken Tarling by a stroke for the victory. Smith and Tarling, paired in the same group were neck and neck for the entire round.

It was the hybrid Smith hit into the eighteenth that set up the winning eagle putt. "That is a shot I will remember for a very long time, it was perfect" Smith said.

The tight battle is sure to give both Smith and Tarling a boost of confidence heading into the PGA of Ontario Championship next week at Barrie Country Club. Both players are ones to watch and could be a factor Tuesday afternoon in Barrie.

The Simmlands Senior Summer Championship win was Smith's second senior title of the season and clearly Keir is enjoying his first year on the senior tour!
