McCann Wins In Playoff Over Smith

(Bond Head, Ont., May 31, 2012) A very cool and breezy start to day two of the Spring Championship made scoring difficult, but at the end of the day it left two men standing.

Brian McCann and Keir Smith both finished the day at 4 under par on the very difficult

south course at The Club at Bond Head.

The Playoff commenced on the 172 yard Par 3 17th hole, where McCann would miss the green right while Smith found the fringe just short left of the pin. Smith would two putt from there for an easy par, while McCann would hit an amazing long bunker shot and hole a 3 footer to force a second playoff hole.

On the difficult Par 4 18th McCann made a solid par to win this year's title, "It all went back to the up and down I made on the 18th hole on day two, that 25 yard bunker shot gave me the confidence to get up and down on the first playoff hole....which eventually lead to the win."

McCann also went on to say, "The tough pins, greens, and conditions will prepare me for this weekend’s US Open Qualifying."
