Ken Tarling Shoots 65 to Win
2010 Simmlands Ontario PGA Senior Fall Championship
at Muskoka Lakes Golf & Country Club

(Port Carling, Ont., - September 13, 2010) – Ken Tarling (Ken Tarling’s Golf Academy) has begun his own version of the Ontario PGA Senior grand slam after claiming the Ontario PGA Senior Fall Championship today.  Tarling’s round of 5-under-par 65 was three shots clear of defending champion Craig Marseilles (Heritage Hills), Ontario Senior PGA Championship runner up Bill Wogden (Barrie) and Mad River Head Professional Brian French.

Tarling, who won the Ontario PGA Seniors’ Championship earlier in the summer, now holds back to back seniors titles and is feeling quite confident about his game.

“I hit some really good shots today,” said Tarling, whohad a bogey free round. “I’ve been working a lot with Paul Dewland (PureMind Golf) and it’s really paying off for me,” added Tarling, who is coming off a T3 showing at the $100,000 Otesga Hotel Senior Open last week in Cooperstown, NY.

Next up for Tarling will be the Texas Senior Open, a Southern Texas PGA event.  Tarling, who gained entry into the Texas Senior Open by winning the Ontario PGA Seniors’ Championship, hopes to continue his fine play beginning September 22, 2010 just outside of Houston.

“I’ve been fortunate enough to get into a few events by virtue of being our Zone Champion,” said Tarling. “It’s a great coup for our Association and I hope guys will take advantage of it in the future,” added the 52 year old.
In the super senior division Bobby Breen picked up yet another win with a round 1-over-par 71. Breen was the 2008 champion at Muskoka Lakes and always brings his ‘A’ game to the famed Stanley Thompson layout.

“I really enjoy this golf course and it’s a real treat to play,” said Breen, who battled some health issues earlier in the year. “I’m starting to feel a lot better and my game is really starting to reflect that,” added Breen who earlier in the year won the Canadian PGA Diamond Division Championship at the Mr. Lube Canadian PGA Seniors’ Championship.

Two time 2010 Senior Tour winner Rick Willan wrapped up the 2010 Ontario PGA Senior Hunt Trophy today. Only Bill Wogden and John Rushnell had a chance to catch Willan and they both needed a win to do so. Willan, who got an early lead in the standings with his back- to-back wins at the Senior Spring Championship and Senior Summer Championship, claims his first Senior Hunt Trophy. Willan joins an esteemed list of past champions which includes Al Balding, Bob Panasik, Gar Hamilton and Ken Tarling.
