Sligo Wear Named Presenting Sponsor of

Assistants' Summer Championship

(Pickering, Ont. March 31, 2009) - The Ontario PGA is pleased to welcome Sligo Wear as its newest partner. Sligo (pronounced SLY GO), which was cofounded by Canadian PGA Professional, Shawn Aucoin, will sponsor the Ontario PGA Assistants' Summer Championship later this year at Caledon Country Club.

"We are delighted to have Sligo as our newest partner," said Chris Miranda, President of the Ontario PGA. "Sligo is one of Canada's fastest growing apparel brands and we look forward to working with them and watching them prosper."

Created with the idea that golfers are athletes, Sligo has been putting out collections that speak to that mindset. Blending trends and fits of North American and European fashion with technical fabrications an athlete requires, Sligo identifies the modern golfer in a sea of masses.

"Being a partner with the Ontario PGA is another feather in Sligo's cap,'' said Shawn Aucoin.  "The Ontario PGA is very well respected throughout the golf industry and is a perfect fit for Sligo's fashion-forward apparel. We're also very pleased and honored to sponsor the Ontario PGA Assistants' Summer Championship. We feel the Assistant PGA professionals are the up and coming influencers in the industry so we're excited to show off Sligo Wear to this group.''

Sligo Wear apparel is worn on the PGA TOUR by Brian Gay and on the Nationwide Tour by Bubba Dickerson, Steve LeBrun, and Justin Hicks. Dickerson, a former U.S. Amateur champion, this past weekend won the Louisiana Open for his first victory in his six-year professional career.

Sligo Wear is also being worn by well-known PGA Teaching Professional, Jeff Ritter, Director of Instruction at the ASU Karsten Golf Academy in Tempe, Arizona.

The Ontario PGA Assistants' Summer Championship is the second individual stroke event on the Assistants' Tour presented by Gordon White, Realtor. Players will converge on Caledon Country Club on July 7, 2009 to take on the mature 6500 yard course. Defending champion Reggie Millage will be looking to claim his third straight Assistants' Summer Championship.

About Sligo Wear

Sligo Wear was founded by a group of friends and active golfers each of who were frustrated by a lack of fashionable and proper fitting affordable golf apparel in the marketplace. At a Pro Am in the Azores in 2004, they noticed a different fashion for golf apparel and upon their return started Sligo Wear Inc. For more information, visit
