Craig Marseilles Finishes the Year How He Started It, With a Win!

(King City, Ont., October 19, 2009)
– If you’ve been following the Simmlands Ontario PGA Senior Tour closely then you will notice that the winners photo from today’s Senior Fall Championship was the same as the Senior Spring.  Craig Marseilles (Heritage Hills), Bobby Breen (Brampton) and Ken Girard all won their respective divisions today which was the second time that trio has won each division this year. Marseilles, Breen and Girard all stood in the winners circle at the Ontario PGA Senior Spring Championship as well.

“It was a great way to end the season,” said Marseilles, who will head to Champions Tour Qualifying School next month in Orlando. “It was definitely a nice way to end the season and to be honest this will help my confidence heading into Q-School,” added Marseilles, who birdied five of his last seven holes en route to victory.

Bobby Breen continued his dominance of the Super Senior (60 – 69) division notching his third win of the season.  What’s more impressive is Breen has the option to compete in the Diamond Division but still feels competitive enough to compete in the regular and super senior divisions.

Much like Breen, Ken Girard has had a strangle hold on the Diamond Division (70+) for the better part of three years. Girard added his eighth Diamond Division win in his 12th start as a 70+ year old.

Ken Tarling finished his season on a high note clinching the 2009 Senior Hunt Trophy. Tarling’s season included one win (Ontario PGA Seniors’) and three second place finishes. Tarling will be heading to Europe later this week to prepare for the European Senior Tour Qualifying School which begins next month in Portugal.

Other notable scores from King Valley included a solid even par round from Doug Warner (Golftown). John Davis (Joshua Creek) and Dave Bell (Tecumseh) finished tied for fourth after firing 1-over-par 73’s.

Notes: Rick Willan is final qualifier for the Senior Bamboomer Long Drive Championship which goes next week at Angus Glen.
