Carrie Vaughan dominates at Golf Supply House Women's Fall Classic

BURLINGTON, ON - The PGA of Ontario held their final major of the season yesterday at Hidden Lake Golf Club.  The Golf Supply House Fall Classic and the Golf Supply House Women's Fall Classic are 36-hole stroke play tournaments and are the last chance for players to accumulate Player of the Year points, to qualify for next week's Player of the Year Championship, plus battle for their share of the $12,000 Fall Classic purse.
The ladies were off first on day two of competition and Carrie Vaughan (The Clublink Academy at Glen Abbey) stepped on the gas early and didn't look back.  With a new career high seven birdies, Vaughan carried her three shot lead and turned it into an eight shot victory.  She started her assault on the first hole and after birdying five of her first six holes, the rout was on.  She was able to cruise her way to the finish adding two more birdies on the back side, to finish the round at 2-under 68.  Another career first for Vaughan happened on the ninth hole, she recalled with a smile, "I played really well today, but I played the wrong ball on the ninth hole, which was a first for me.  That will never happen again."  Despite the two penalty strokes assessed, Vaughan finished the two days at 3-over par and eight clear of Megan Chapman (The Academy at The Georgian Bay Club) who finished in second spot.
