McCann comes from way back to win the Golf Supply House Fall Classic by three

September 29, 2016
BURLINGTON, ON - The first day of the Golf Supply House Fall Classic set the stage perfectly for a tight second day finish.  With fourteen players even-par or better and nine within two shots of Danny King, who led the way at 3-under, there was no predicting where the winner would come from.  Brian McCann (Brampton Golf Club), who played in the fourth to last group, thought that he was going to need to shoot somewhere around 7-under par to have a chance at the winners circle.  "I played really well yesterday," McCann said after the round.  "I was hitting greens, I just wasn't dropping enough putts to score."
McCann, who missed a putt on the ninth hole for 29, couldn't be stopped climbing to the top of the leaderboard.  "I've never actually shot 29 before, so I think I gave the putt a little too much.  I was playing well so I just forgot about it and got back to trying to make up as much ground as possible."
McCann finished his impressive day with eight birdies and his only bogey came after he missed the putt on the ninth hole.  He topped a long list of talented golfers and combined his day one even-par, with a 7-under par performance to finish and win the Golf Supply House Fall Classic by three.  Danny King (The Performance Academy at Magna), Jeff Mills (Wildfire Golf Club), and Bradlee Ryall (Bradlee Ryall Golf/Kaneff Academies) were all in the hunt but McCann was too much too handle.
