Alexa Kim dominates the Women's Championship

For the second time in three years the PGA of Ontario brought the annual Women's Championship to the always stellar Ladies Golf Club of Toronto.  "We love when Toronto Ladies hosts our events.  It's a classic Stanley Thompson design and truly one of the best courses in the city" said Executive Director Kevin Purcell.

Since 2014 the Women's Championship has been a 36-hole event and hasn't disappointed with the quality of golf.  On the first day of competition Alexa Kim, a relative new comer in the PGA of Ontario, caught fire on the back nine and didn't look back.  She managed four birdies on the back side and finished the day with a 73 and 2-shot lead over Danielle Greene (Toronto Golf Club).

Kim and Greene were poised for a shootout going into the second day and with the absence of last year's champion Jennifer Jaszek, there was going to be a new champion crowned.  Alexa Kim made sure to take matters into her own hands by sharing the second-day low round with Megan Chapman (Academy at Georgian Bay Club) at 1-over 72 to solidify her victory.

Kim encouraged her fellow female golf professionals after the round, "I love coming to these ladies events.  The group of women that we have is very welcoming and all great players.  I look forward to coming to these events and encourage any other lady professionals thinking about playing to come out and do so.  It's a really great time."
