"Cheers" to Warsteiner Brewery

The PGA of Ontario says "Cheers"

to Warsteiner Brewery

PICKERING, ON - Warsteiner Brewery is now the official beer partner of The PGA of Ontario.

Building upon a successful partnership that started in 2012 with the European Tour, Warsteiner Brewery is expanding its commitment within the golf world by becoming a major sponsor of the PGA of Ontario for 2013.

"We're delighted to announce that Warsteiner Brewery will become the title sponsor of The WARSTEINER PGA of Ontario Senior Tour as part of a multi-year agreement," says Kevin Purcell, Executive Director of the PGA of Ontario. "It will give our members an opportunity to experience a German beer with plenty of tradition that dates back to 1753."

The WARSTEINER PGA of Ontario Senior Tour will continue to have four major events across the province: the Senior Spring Open at Huron Oaks GC on June 3-4; the Senior Summer Championship at Oshawa Golf & Curling Club on July 8, PGA of Ontario Senior Championship at Maple Downs G&CC on August 12-13 and the Senior Fall Championship at St. Thomas G&CC on August 29.

Warsteiner is also a major sponsor of "Golf Talk Canada" - the country's only nationally syndicated Golf Talk Show on TSN radio and will be in attendance at the 2013 PGA of Ontario Fall Expo.

Founded in 1753, Warsteiner Brewery is one of the largest privately owned breweries in Germany. Its flagship is the Warsteiner Premium Verum brand, one of the most popular beer brands in all of Germany. The brewery is also an official sponsor of the European Tour 2013 BMW International Open in Munich, Germany in June.

Across the globe, golf is enjoying significant growth with fantastic match-ups and rivalries, and a fiercely loyal and ever expanding fan base. For that reason, Warsteiner has chosen the world of international golf played at the highest level as a focus for its marketing communication. "Our international strategy mirrors the core values of the Warsteiner brand: International class, passion, and our exceptional art of brewing - a perfect match with the premium character of golf," says Edward Palmer, Canadian Manager for the Warsteiner Group.
